Meet Tij (Tijlani) The Youngest
Tij — (Tijlani said Tay Larni) — is our creative, curious, quietly hilarious thinker. She lives with anxiety, ASD and ADHD, which means she’s big on comfort, routine when she needs it, and doing life in a way that actually works for her (not just what looks “normal” to everyone else).Tij’s happy place is a mix of calm and chaos: colouring in, bingeing YouTube (especially Kevin Lang, Sam and Colby, and Kall Me Kris), and hanging with her people — seeing her boyfriend, meeting friends, or heading down the street to sit at the park, listen to music, and just exist in peace. She’s also a dedicated Nintendo Switch player, rotating between Fortnite, Bad Dream: Coma, Unpacking, and Dreamlight Valley depending on her vibe — and she’s got a growing DJ hobby, because music isn’t just something she likes… it’s something she feels.Tij is also a total softie. She loves Stitch, and she’s at her best around little kids — especially her cousins and second cousins — because toddlers are cute, funny, and don’t do awkward small talk. She’s fascinated by WW2 history, and she’s also into the darker side of curiosity: paranormal stories and true crime (in a “tell me everything but let me sleep later” kind of way).
Early Life
Tij has always known what she likes — and what she doesn’t. She tried things like Scouts and dance, but dance wasn’t for her, and group sports or being the centre of attention definitely isn’t her thing. She’s more of a “let me do my own thing, in my own space” person. She also grew up in a family that took in foster kids. Sometimes she loved it — especially when there were toddlers, because she genuinely liked helping and spending time with them. But she also found it hard when some kids brought challenging behaviours into the home, like stealing, which could feel stressful and unfair.
School
Tij does home-schooling, and for her it has some big wins: it’s flexible, she can work at her own pace, and there aren’t other students around — which means way less stress and no constant friction. As Tij would put it: no arguing with teachers. The downside is the social part — she doesn’t get to see her friends as much as she’d like, and that can be hard.
Work & FutureTij currently does stocktake for the local butcher, which is honestly perfect — structured, practical, and satisfying when everything lines up correctly.Future-wise, she’s got a few paths she’s drawn to (because why pick just one?): she’d love to become a hospice nurse or midwife, work in crime scene analysis, or keep building her skills as a DJ (maybe even in Vietnam if that ends up being the option that fits best).
Values
Tij cares deeply about fairness and justice. She’s the kind of person who will always fight for the underdog, even if it means being the only one saying it out loud. Once you’re in her circle, she’s fiercely loyal, and her humour is one of her superpowers — dry, sharp, and perfectly timed. She’s also incredibly creative, especially when she’s in her zone. Whether it’s art, music, gaming worlds, or DJing, Tij has a way of turning what she loves into something that feels uniquely hers.
Looking Ahead
On this epic adventure, Tij is most excited about meaningful, “real” experiences — like visiting Alcatraz, seeing concentration camps, and spending time with family. She’s not exactly keen on the idea of living in Vietnam, but she also knows it might come with something she values a lot: less stress and a calmer pace of life.
